Media personality Ahmed Shobir spoke about Hossam El Moutawakel, the head coach of Al Ahly’s first football team, and his thoughts on the goalkeeper position in the upcoming matches.
Mohamed El Shenawy, Mostafa Shobir, and Hamza Elaa are competing for the Al Ahly goalkeeper spot, with the latter being the first choice in recent times.
Al Ahly is scheduled to face Smouha at 8:00 PM today, Thursday, in the third round of the Egyptian Premier League at the Cairo International Stadium.

Al Ahly is currently in third place in the Egyptian Premier League standings with 6 points, aiming for a third consecutive win to secure a perfect score.
Shobir said during his radio program on “On Sport”: “El Moutawakel gives the opportunity to any player on the verge of joining the national team, and the one expected to play in today’s match against Smouha is Mostafa Shobir.”
He added: “As for the next two matches, the fourth and fifth rounds, before the national team camp, the one expected to play is Mohamed El Shenawy to prepare him before the national team camp.”
He continued: “El Moutawakel will study Al Ahly’s Confederation Cup matches and see whether it will allow resting the first-choice goalkeeper and fielding the second-choice goalkeeper, with the aim of keeping all of Al Ahly’s goalkeepers in peak condition.”
