Media personality Ahmed Shobier revealed the behind-the-scenes of Zamalek club's moves to lift the disciplinary transfer ban imposed by the International Football Federation (FIFA), due to cases filed against the club by former players and coaches.
In a statement on his radio program, Shobier said: "The most important thing within Zamalek club is the move to lift the disciplinary transfer ban. The club is preparing all its documents because it wants to be satisfied with a single ban period, as it is currently banned for two periods."
He continued: "Zamalek wants to request a hearing at the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS). The court has no issue with this, but the club is waiting for more than one thing, which is to settle all the cases. There are currently two cases: the dues owed to Moroccan club Ittihad Tanger in the transfer of Abdel Hamid Maali, and the case of Swedish Ajax in the transfer of Omar Farag."

He added: "Zamalek cannot go to the Court of Arbitration for Sport until it finishes the two cases, agrees on a settlement with the two clubs, and then schedules the payments. After that, it will go to the Court of Arbitration for Sport and tell them that it no longer has any cases, which will improve the club's position."
He concluded: "Zamalek is waiting for a specific time when it will have prepared all the documents and resolved the two cases, and then it will move to resolve the crisis with the Court of Arbitration for Sport. I hope Zamalek wakes up, not just on the football level, but on the level of legal cases."
