Officials from Al-Ahly Benghazi contacted Yasser Ibrahim, a player for Al-Ahly team and the Egyptian national team, to sign him permanently at the end of this season.
The 33-year-old had received an offer from Saudi club Al-Shabab during the last summer transfer window, but Al-Ahly officials refused to part with the services of the Egyptian international.
Yasser Ibrahim's contract with Al-Ahly expires at the end of this season. Negotiations were held recently with the player regarding a contract renewal, but they have not yet concluded successfully due to financial disagreements between both parties.
A $3 million offer
A source revealed in exclusive statements via "Yalla Kora" on Friday that Libyan club Al-Ahly Benghazi officials contacted Yasser Ibrahim to sign him next summer on a free transfer.
The source, who preferred to remain anonymous, added that the contract duration would be two seasons, with Yasser Ibrahim receiving an annual salary estimated at one and a half million dollars, noting that there might be negotiation over the amount if the player accepts the offer.
Yasser Ibrahim joined Al-Ahly's ranks during the winter transfer window of 2019, coming from Smouha SC.
Yasser Ibrahim has won numerous local and continental titles while wearing Al-Ahly's jersey, including winning the Egyptian Premier League five times and the CAF Champions League four times.
According to Transfermarkt, Yasser Ibrahim has earned 33 caps for the Egyptian national team, scoring two goals, one of which was against Argentina at the 2026 World Cup.
