The Egyptian Basketball Federation, headed by Amr Meselhy, has approved the establishment of the Egypt Cup for junior boys and girls.
This approval comes following a proposal submitted by Mohamed Ehab Mohsen, a member of the federation's board of directors.
The decision to hold the tournament is part of the Egyptian Basketball Federation's commitment to revitalizing competitions across various age groups, raising the technical level of players, and providing them with greater opportunities for experience and competition, thereby contributing to developing their capabilities and honing their talents.
The tournament also aims to broaden the base for discovering promising talents in different age groups and to work on preparing a new generation of male and female players capable of representing national teams in the future, supporting the federation's long-term plans for developing the national teams.
The Egyptian Basketball Federation emphasized that establishing the Egypt Cup for junior boys and girls represents a new addition to youth competitions.
It aligns with the federation's vision to provide the maximum possible number of competitions and experiential matches for players, contributing to elevating the level of Egyptian basketball.
