FC Barcelona still wishes to sign more players before the current summer transfer window closes, with the center-back position being a necessity for the Catalan club.
Barcelona manager Hansi Flick wants to sign a center-back who can play with his left foot, making the signing of a player in this position a priority for the Blaugrana following Ronald Araujo's departure to Liverpool.
In this context, the newspaper "Mundo Deportivo" reported that Barcelona is considering signing Sporting Lisbon defender Gonçalo Inácio in the coming period.
Mundo Deportivo confirmed, citing the "Now Canal" channel, that Inácio is a candidate to move to Barcelona. The player was excluded from Sporting Lisbon's starting lineup against Alverca last Saturday in the Portuguese Premier League and remained on the bench.
It added that AC Milan is the most likely candidate to sign Inácio, as the player knows the Rossoneri's current manager, Ruben Amorim, well, having worked together in Lisbon. However, the Portuguese international's move to Barcelona is not ruled out.

Inácio's move to Barcelona is considered possible, given the likelihood of Alejandro Balde's departure, as well as Jules Koundé's. The Sporting Lisbon player is represented by the "AS21" agency, which also represents players such as Bayern Munich winger Luis Díaz and Paris Saint-Germain star Nuno Mendes.
Inácio is under contract with Lisbon until June 2030, and his contract with the Portuguese club includes a release clause worth 60 million euros.
Mundo Deportivo added that Inácio is an exciting option for Barcelona at center-back, as he plays left-footed and can build play from the back, a quality currently lacking at the Blaugrana, with only Gerard Martín possessing these attributes in the squad.
This is not the first time Inácio has been linked with a move to Barcelona. The player has made 261 appearances for Lisbon since being promoted to the Portuguese club's first team in 2021.
Inácio has scored 24 goals and provided 15 assists for Lisbon, and the player has also featured in 31 Champions League matches.
