According to the "Doble Amarilla" website, the Burkina Faso national team delegation departed Morocco early this morning on a private jet, with an expected arrival at Ezeiza Airport in Argentina on Saturday.
The Burkinabe team's journey to Buenos Aires began from Morocco, before complications arose following the cancellation of the scheduled flight, prompting the Burkina Faso Football Federation to reorganize the delegation's itinerary.
The Burkina Faso Football Federation stated in a press release: "The Burkina Faso Football Federation wishes to inform the national public opinion, the fans of the Stallions, and its partners about the current situation facing the Burkina Faso delegation in Morocco, as part of its trip to Buenos Aires to play the international friendly match between Argentina and Burkina Faso."
It added: "The national team's trip was affected by the chartering company cancelling the flight scheduled for September 30th without prior notice. This cancellation forced the delegation to reorganize the travel route."
Moves to secure the arrival of the Burkina Faso national team
Following the flight cancellation, sports authorities in Burkina Faso collaborated with their embassy in Morocco to find an alternative means ensuring the team's timely arrival in Argentina.
The Federation clarified that several options were explored to reorganize the trip, but some alternatives were ruled out due to travel conditions and the length of the journey, which raised reservations among the players.
The final match before Messi's farewell
The report indicated that the Argentina vs. Burkina Faso match does not face the risk of cancellation or postponement, and is scheduled to kick off at 3:00 AM tomorrow (Sunday) at the Monumental Stadium.
