Spanish press reports revealed the reaction of Atlético Madrid and Argentina national team star, Julián Álvarez, due to developments in his transfer file to Barcelona during the current summer transfer window.
Barcelona wants to secure the services of the Argentine star, a sentiment reciprocated by the other party, who himself stated that he would like to leave Atlético Madrid.
Atlético Madrid reignited the crisis after statements made yesterday by the club's executive president, Miguel Ángel Gil Marín, in which he confirmed that Álvarez is not for sale and that Barcelona has no chance whatsoever of completing the deal.

The Spanish newspaper "Sport" reported that Álvarez's representatives are experiencing severe annoyance due to the aforementioned Atlético Madrid statements, and that the player himself is strongly upset with the club, especially since he believes they failed to honor the pledge they made with him just a few months ago.
It explained that Gil Marín's statements provoked Álvarez's anger, as he realizes that what is being said now contradicts the commitment reached between the two parties months ago.
It added that it is not unlikely Álvarez will publicly address the media again to discuss his future and insist on leaving, as soon as his World Cup campaign ends, where he plays in the final match tomorrow.
