Journalistic reports revealed Barcelona club's stance toward the recent statements made by Atletico Madrid's executive president regarding the La Liga title holder's interest in signing star Julian Alvarez.
Barcelona's interest in securing the services of Julian Alvarez, the Argentine star who recently stated he would like to leave Atletico Madrid's ranks, is no secret.
Atletico Madrid erupted in anger after Barcelona submitted an official offer to sign Alvarez last June, confirming that the player is not available for departure in the current summer transfer window.
Juan Laporta stated on Thursday that their desire to sign Alvarez has not ended, despite the offer presented to him having limits.

On the other hand, Miguel Angel Gil Marin, Atletico Madrid's executive president, made fiery statements on Friday confirming that Alvarez is not for sale, while acknowledging he understands Barcelona and their president Juan Laporta's insistence on behaving this way before the media and fans.
The Spanish newspaper "Mundo Deportivo" reported that sources inside Barcelona confirmed they do not intend to be drawn into those criticisms, even in the context of a debate with Gil Marin.
It clarified that Barcelona's position in this regard is to maintain silence and await developments after the World Cup concludes next Sunday, when Julian Alvarez plays for Argentina against Spain.
