Argentine journalist Ferro Brunati revealed shocking details about the situation of Atlético Madrid star Julián Álvarez, explaining that the Argentine international is truly suffering, while his family has received several threats recently.
Álvarez is going through a truly difficult situation, as the player wants to leave Atlético Madrid and move to Barcelona, but the Spanish capital club does not want to let the player go to the Blaugrana and prefers to sell him outside of Spain amid interest from Arsenal.
The relationship between Álvarez and the Atlético Madrid fans has become extremely tense, with the crowd booing the 26-year-old during the team’s match against Villarreal last Sunday in the Spanish league.
In statements carried by the newspaper "Sport," Brunati spoke about the details of Álvarez’s current situation, initially mocking Atlético Madrid and the Rojiblancos’ stubbornness in selling the player to Barcelona, saying: "When Atlético Madrid wanted to sign Álvarez, he was under contract with Manchester City. It seems that only Barcelona contacts players who are under contract with their clubs."
She added that Atlético Madrid manager Diego Simeone was the deciding factor in convincing Álvarez to leave Manchester City two years ago and join the Atleti, but the player has been unable to adapt to the Spanish club’s project and vision from a sporting standpoint.

Brunati further stated that Álvarez is suffering from poor mental health due to the media pressure he faces, and that his family has received threats, which is the reason for the player’s absence from Atlético Madrid training.
She continued, explaining that Atlético Madrid’s public mockery of Barcelona’s offers to sign Álvarez clearly contributed to the deterioration of the player’s mental state, while the player was under immense pressure before the World Cup, having already decided at that time to leave the Atleti, with the media pressure on the player worsening his situation.
Ferro Brunati reported that the media spotlight on Álvarez has personally harmed the player and his family, adding: "No one thinks about the human side. The truth is that the player is suffering, as is his family."
Brunati called on everyone to consider Álvarez’s request to leave Atlético Madrid after only two seasons with the Spanish club, as the player is facing accusations regarding his decision to leave, yet no one has tried to understand the reasons behind the Argentine international’s request to leave the Spanish capital club, noting that Álvarez now faces two options and no others: either moving to Arsenal or staying with the Spanish capital club.
