A source from Maghreb Fes club revealed the truth about Al Ahly's negotiations with the Moroccan striker Sofiane Benjdida.

A source from Maghreb Fes said via the Moroccan SNRTnews website: "There are no official negotiations from Al Ahly to sign Sofiane Benjdida, and the club has not received any official offer to include the player, who is contracted with us until the end of the 2030 season."
He added: "Benjdida has a high release clause, and any club wishing to sign him without negotiating with Maghreb Fes will be obliged to pay the full release clause amount."
He concluded: "We do not mind our players turning professional, especially if the destination is Europe, but we are committed to the current sports project, and we seek to preserve the pillars of the team, foremost among them Sofiane Benjdida."
Benjdida excelled in the Maghreb Fes shirt as he led them to win the Moroccan league title, and also won the top scorer award with 20 goals.
On the other hand, Al Ahly is close to concluding the signing of Algerian striker Monsef Bakayr, player of Croatian Dinamo Zagreb.
The Croatian site jutarnji revealed that Dinamo Zagreb reached an agreement allowing the player to remain with the team until playing the second preliminary round matches of the Champions League against Swiss Thun.
The report explained that the deal amounted to 3 million euros as a base value, with the possibility of rising to 4 million euros through incentives.
This comes alongside the Croatian club obtaining 10% of any future resale value.
Al Ahly seeks to bolster its attack in preparation for the season under the leadership of Moroccan Hussein Ammouta, having included Oktay Abdullah and Ali Mahmoud from Enppi.
Monsef Bakayr began his career with WA Sétif before moving to Croatian club Istra in the summer of 2022.
Bakayr then moved to New York City in the United States in the summer of 2023, before returning to the Croatian league via Dinamo Zagreb last summer.
The 25-year-old played 42 matches with Dinamo Zagreb, scoring 18 goals and providing 7 assists in all competitions.
Internationally, he represented the Algerian national team in 7 matches and scored two goals.
