Essam El-Hadary, former goalkeeper coach of the Egyptian national team, affirmed that excessive talk about Mostafa Shobeir, Al-Ahly's goalkeeper, whether regarding contract renewal or transfer offers, could negatively affect him, and this file should be closed as soon as possible.
El-Hadary said in television statements to "On Sport" channel: "The atmosphere Shobeir experienced during the World Cup, including celebrations and other things, and when he returned to play in the Egyptian League—and I do not underestimate the league—it is natural for his performance to appear like this."
He added: "The World Cup is the highest level in football, and when you return to play in the domestic league without quickly regaining your form and stepping out of that mindset, it is natural for this to happen."
He continued: "Al-Ahly was lucky today against Sharqia Enppi; if Enppi had scored their penalty kick, the result would have been much harder. Al-Ahly will face difficult circumstances this season due to their defensive line."

He went on: "Shobeir's positioning was good for the first goal, but he did not handle the ball properly. Ultimately, the defensive line bears primary responsibility for the goal; the mistake was shared with the goalkeeper, but the defense carries the greater blame. The speed of the ball combined with the grass deceived Shobeir."
He further added: "The second goal was a clear defensive mistake by the back line, and Shobeir cannot be blamed for it. If I were in Afsha's place for the third goal, I would have shot toward the far corner."
