The first football team of Al-Ahly Club continues its collective training intensively under the leadership of Moroccan technical director Hussein Amouta in preparation for the new 2026/2027 sports season.
Al-Ahly is holding a training camp in Spain that will continue until August 20, during which the team will play a number of friendly matches to prepare the players optimally before the start of the season.
Al-Ahly's collective training session saw the participation of all players, including Moroccan star Sofiane Benjdida, who joined the Red Giants during the current summer transfer window from Maghreb Fez.
Al-Ahly stated in an official statement on its Facebook account that Algerian player Monsef Bekkar of the club's first football team will join the external preparation camp currently held in Spain this evening.
The statement added: "The team's camp will conclude with a match against Barcelona on the 19th of this month, and the Algerian player's joining comes after the end of the rest granted to him by the technical staff in light of preparations for the new season."
The club is scheduled to play two friendly matches on August 12 and 13 before facing Spanish Barcelona in the friendly Joan Gamper Cup at Camp Nou on the 19th of the same month.
The match against Barcelona is the most prominent test for the Red Giants during the preparation period before returning to Cairo and completing preparations for the launch of the new season, amid the technical staff's desire to bring the players to the highest levels of physical and technical readiness.
