Turkish club Beşiktaş has turned to searching for an alternative to Egyptian star Mohamed Salah, after the club decided to suspend the deal.
Beşiktaş entered into negotiations with Salah to sign him on a free transfer in the current summer mercato, following the Egypt national team captain's departure from Liverpool at the end of last season, but the deal stalled due to a disagreement over financial matters.
The Turkish newspaper "Türkiye Gazetesi" revealed that Beşiktaş is considering Italian Federico Chiesa, Liverpool's winger, among its options to bolster the right side of the attack.
This brings Chiesa back into Beşiktaş's calculations, having previously placed him on its list of interests, viewing his signing as a more feasible option to strengthen the right-wing position.
Chiesa enjoys particular interest from his Italian compatriot Vincenzo Italiano, Beşiktaş's coach, and the manager is expected to play a role in attempting to persuade the player to move to the Turkish league.
Beşiktaş's interest in Chiesa comes at a time when the player's future with Liverpool remains in question, after suffering limited playing time since joining the club in 2024, which could open the door to his departure in search of more regular playing opportunities.
It is worth noting that Chiesa (28 years old) featured in 38 matches for the Reds across various competitions last season, scoring 3 goals and providing the same number of assists.
