After Diomandé nears Real Madrid.. Will Liverpool sign Barcola?

English journalist James Pearce revealed the extent of Liverpool club's closeness to signing French international Bradley Barcola, the first-team player for Paris Saint-Germain football club.

Liverpool is trying to strengthen its ranks in preparation for the new 2026/2027 season after the departure of the team's most important player, Mohamed Salah, the Reds legend.

The Reds are led by Spanish coach Andoni Iraola, succeeding Dutchman Arne Slot after the poor season he delivered, as Liverpool lost its personality and its usual attacking philosophy.

James Pearce said that after Yan Diomande's approach to Real Madrid club, Liverpool has identified Bradley Barcola as its first target in the transfer market.

He stated that completing the deal is not easy with Paris Saint-Germain, which faces no pressure to sell the player.

The French club is not expected to sell Barcola for a sum less than £100 million, and perhaps more than that.

He stressed that Barcola would represent a strong addition to the team, but if Paris Saint-Germain does not settle his departure, Liverpool will not wait and will look for other options.

He explained that Liverpool will not spend money on signing a new striker, especially with Hugo Ekitike's imminent return from his ankle injury, so the club will focus on strengthening the winger position.
