Demirbay said, in statements reported by the Turkish "Sporx": "Mohamed Salah joining the Turkish league? My respect for him is great and unlimited, but this league has witnessed many legends before."
He continued: "I do not compare Salah with others, but there are many important players and shining names who have joined this league before, such as Drogba and Sneijder."
He added: "We also have distinguished players like Emre Belözoğlu and Arda Turan. I do not think that signing a star like Mohamed Salah is happening for the first time, but it has been ongoing for a long time."
He concluded his statements by saying: "Of course this is good for the league, but the players who joined the league previously were truly great."
