Ghanaian international Thomas Partey, midfielder of Saudi club Al-Shabab, delivered a major shock to the technical staff due to the length of his absence from the pitch because of injury.
The 33-year-old sustained the injury during Al-Shabab's match against Al-Riyadh, which ended in a 3-3 draw, as part of the third round of the Saudi Roshn League.
According to the Saudi newspaper "Al-Riyadh," the medical team will handle Partey's injury with caution, given that he previously suffered an adductor muscle strain.
The same newspaper indicated that Thomas Partey will miss training and matches for a period ranging between three to four weeks.
Partey had played 77 minutes for Al-Shabab since joining this summer on a free transfer after his contract with Spanish club Villarreal expired.
"The Capital's Lions" are scheduled to face Al-Hazem tomorrow, Sunday, in the fourth round of the Saudi Roshn League, as the capital-based team aims to secure its first victory after three rounds.
Al-Shabab suffered one defeat against Al-Qadsiah, while drawing two matches against Al-Khaleej and most recently against Al-Riyadh.
