Hany Abo Rida, President of the Egyptian Football Association and First Vice President of the Arab Football Union, revealed the truth behind the return of the Arab Club Championship in the upcoming period.

Foreign press reports had recently revealed the possibility of the Arab Club Championship returning in the summer of 2027, with Saudi Arabia's Al-Nassr participating, without disclosing any further details.

This came following a meeting of the Arab Football Union's board of directors held in Saudi Arabia last Thursday evening, which Hany Abo Rida attended.

Hany Abo Rida stated to Saudi Al-Riyadiya: "It was a highly productive meeting, during which we discussed the Arab Union's upcoming tournaments, as well as the Union's stance on future participations."

He added: "It has been decided that Port Said will host the Arab Beach Soccer Championship at the beginning of next November, and this competition will last for 10 days."

Regarding the most prominent tournament organized by the Arab Football Union, he said: "We also discussed during the meeting the possibility of holding the Arab Clubs Championship, but the current schedule is extremely difficult."

He added: "The match calendar for both national teams and clubs is very crowded, but we are still trying to find the optimal way to hold our tournaments."

Hany Abo Rida concluded his statements by saying: "The Arab Championship in its last two editions was of a very high level, and God willing, we will present something soon in coordination with FIFA."
