The International Football Federation "FIFA" announced the goals nominated to win the award for the best goal in the round of 16 of the 2026 World Cup tournament.
The round of 16 matches witnessed the scoring of 23 goals, before "FIFA" settled on six goals to compete for the award.
Eldor Shomurodov, the Uzbekistan national team player, had won the best goal award in the group stage after the fans' vote, before Luiz Sidney Cabral, the Cape Verde player, won the best goal award in the round of 32.
Among the 6 goals nominated for the best award in the round of 16, there was an Arab goal, along with two goals from the match that brought together Argentina and Egypt.
"FIFA" opened the voting door to the fans for 48 hours, to vote for the best goal among the 6 goals, before announcing the winner.
