Portuguese legend Cristiano Ronaldo, captain of Saudi club Al-Nassr and the Portugal national team, issued a statement regarding his departure from the national team's training camp before the match against Denmark, as part of the 2027 UEFA Nations League.
The Portugal national team is scheduled to face Denmark tomorrow in the third round of the UEFA Nations League.
Cristiano Ronaldo did not participate in Sunday evening's match between Portugal and Norway, remaining on the bench throughout the game due to a decision by coach Jorge Jesus, which caused anger for the captain of the European Brazil.
Ronaldo met with the president of the Portuguese Football Federation and Jesus, and the issue was resolved among all parties.
However, just hours ago, a video circulated showing Cristiano Ronaldo leaving the Portugal national team's training facility after coach Jorge Jesus's press conference, (click here to watch the video).
In a statement published via his official account on the social media platform "Instagram," Cristiano Ronaldo said: "Following the national team coach's press conference, and after a conversation with the president of the Portuguese Football Federation, I decided to leave the national team's training camp."
He continued: "In due time, I will reveal to the Portuguese people the true reasons that led me to leave the national team, which I have always dedicated myself to serving."
Ronaldo concluded: "It is now time for me to wish good luck to Portugal and to all my teammates, without exception."
