Atlético Madrid star Julián Álvarez has been going through a difficult time recently, as the Argentine international wishes to leave the Rojiblancos during the current summer transfer window.
Álvarez is under contract with Atlético Madrid until June 2030, but he wants to leave and pursue a new destination in his football career, with his preferred move being a signing for Barcelona.
Atlético Madrid refuses to sell Álvarez to Barcelona and prefers to offload the Argentine international to a club outside of Spain, while Arsenal have submitted an offer to sign the 26-year-old.

In this context, the newspaper 'Marca' reported that Álvarez missed Atlético Madrid's training for the second consecutive day, while the Argentine international explained that he was suffering from an illness that also prevented him from attending training yesterday, Wednesday.

The newspaper added that Álvarez is the most affected by this issue, while Arsenal's interest in signing the player and his move to the Emirates Stadium would be the best solution to this problem.
There is doubt about Álvarez's participation in Atlético Madrid's next La Liga match against Sevilla, which will be played next Saturday, August 29.
Álvarez was subjected to heavy boos from the Atlético Madrid fans during the match against Villarreal last Sunday in La Liga, while the player did not greet the fans after the end of the match and went directly off the field.
Atlético Madrid confirmed that it will not sell Álvarez to Barcelona, clarifying that the issue is one of dignity.
