Xabi Alonso, Chelsea's head coach, spoke about his player Enzo Fernández, who is linked with a departure from the squad this summer amid Manchester City's interest in signing him.
Manchester City is seeking to strengthen its midfield following the departure of several key players, notably Rodri and Bernardo Silva, and views Enzo Fernández as a suitable target.
Chelsea is preparing to face Luton Town in the Carabao Cup on Thursday, amidst speculation that Manchester City will attempt to sign the midfielder.
Xabi Alonso stated in remarks published by the British newspaper "The Independent": "Enzo has trained, and he is training very well. He is a professional player, and he will participate in Thursday's match."

When asked whether he wishes to retain Fernández at Chelsea, Alonso replied: "We want the best possible squad for the team. We know Enzo's capabilities, and he has proven them. We must wait, but our focus is on tomorrow's match, and we will see how things develop."
Regarding whether selling Fernández depends on Chelsea's ability to sign a replacement, Xabi responded: "It always comes down to understanding the context, the situation, the timing, and the circumstances; therefore, there is no fixed rule for everything."
He added: "You must understand how things are progressing, what you want, and what you want for the future. Therefore, I do not have fixed rules; we must evaluate each case individually."
