AS: Real Madrid player refuses to leave before the new season

Via Btolat

Journalistic reports have revealed that one of Real Madrid's players does not intend to leave the Spanish club during the current summer transfer window, as he seeks to remain at the "Santiago Bernabéu" next season.

Ferland Mendy holds a valid contract with Real Madrid for two more years, meaning he continues until 2028.

Ferland Mendy continues his recovery from the recent injury he sustained, which was a tear in the knee tendons last May, where he underwent surgery.

While previous journalistic reports indicated that Mendy would not return to the pitches until a full year had passed, those close to him denied that matter, according to the Spanish newspaper "AS", as he is progressing well and may return to training next September.

It clarified that regarding Ferland Mendy's future with Real Madrid, the club's management has not contacted him to discuss his departure or encourage him to look for another team, with full awareness of the difficulty of finding a new team due to his injury history and his absence in the current period.

It indicated that if Mendy proposes the matter of his departure to Real Madrid, the club will certainly study the issue, but it does not intend to pressure him and will respect the contract concluded between them.

It stated that on the other hand, Ferland Mendy does not intend to leave Real Madrid as he is happy in the ranks of the royal team despite the injuries he has suffered in recent years, and he is confident in his ability to convince José Mourinho of himself once he regains his physical fitness.

Ferland hopes to participate in important matches during the next season, just as happened to him in the past season.
