Journalistic reports revealed the behind-the-scenes of what happened in the Argentina national team's dressing room after losing the 2026 FIFA World Cup final on Sunday evening at the hands of Spain.
Sunday evening witnessed the World Cup final match between Argentina and Spain, where the latter won with a goal without reply.
The Argentine newspaper "Ole" mentioned that, as expected, the Argentina national team's dressing room was immersed in sadness after the defeat, with faces staring at the ground, along with continuous crying.
It explained that after everyone changed their clothes, captain Lionel Messi gathered the entire team, just as he did before the match.

It indicated that in the presence of the players, the technical and administrative staff, Messi adjusted the captain's armband before directing a brief word, saying to them: "I would like to thank you for everything, for those 50 days and for your efforts, I am proud of that team."
It reported that after that, the players left the field with sadness filling their faces from the intensity of crying, without making any statements as they were keen to avoid the cameras and look at the ground.
According to FIFA regulations, one of the team members must speak to the media outlets, and coach Lionel Scaloni took on that task, and allowed his players to board the team bus.
The same thing was repeated the next morning, as crowds gathered in front of the Hilton Hills hotel, and all members of the team departed in a state of deep regret and sadness, with the pain evident on everyone's faces before boarding the bus heading to New York airport.
