Hopes of the Egyptian professional Haitham Hassan have been revived regarding the possibility of leaving the ranks of Real Oviedo and embarking on a new professional experience, following statements made by coach Julian Calero.

Haitham Hassan had succeeded in attracting attention after his performance in the World Cup tournament with the Egyptian national team, 2026 edition, this summer, where he played a role in the historic qualification to the round of 16.

Recent press reports mentioned that Haitham Hassan is wanted by Celtic club, which submitted an offer that was rejected by Real Oviedo due to the low financial value.

Haitham Hassan is also on the radar of other clubs such as Marseille, noting that the value of the penalty clause in his contract has decreased from 16 to 10 million pounds sterling as a result of the team's relegation to the Spanish Second Division.

For his part, Real Oviedo coach Julian Calero opened the door to the departure of Haitham Hassan and other players to focus on young talents in the new season.

Calero said, in statements published by the English "Daily Record" network: "I do not like big teams because of the problems they may cause, Oviedo is a club that relies on the youth academy."

He added: "Young players should be given a chance when the first team players do not play, but that decision is in the hands of the club and the sports director."
