Media personality Ahmed Shoubir confirmed that the players of Zamalek Club's first football team refused to attend the training camp for the upcoming football season, pointing to a major crisis inside the White Castle.

And Shoubir said in statements on his radio program this morning: "A source inside Zamalek Club confirmed that the preparation camp for the upcoming season will not begin until the players' outstanding dues are paid".

He added: "I will explain the reason, and Zamalek fans should not be upset with me. The reason is that the players refused to enter the camp, and confirmed that they will not start the new season like the previous one, and demanded their dues, stressing that they did not fall short, as they reached the Confederation final and won the Egyptian League title".

He continued: "The players have dues and bonuses. Of course, former club president Mamdouh Abbas paid a lot of money in bonuses, but the players' contract dues at the club have not all been paid".

He concluded: "The source said that Zamalek will prepare everything to start the preparation period in two or three days, but on the other hand, Al Ahly has been undergoing its preparation period for 10 days, and will play a friendly match on the 23rd, while on the other side Zamalek has not started training and there is one month left until the league kicks off, and the club has not even contracted with a coach".
