Miguel Gil Marín, the CEO of Atlético Madrid club, responded regarding Barcelona's association with signing Julián Álvarez during the summer transfer window.
Barcelona places Julián Álvarez at the top of its interests to be the main striker in the team next season after Robert Lewandowski's departure from its ranks.
And the American Chicago Fire had signed the veteran Pole in a free transfer deal.

Miguel Gil Marín said in statements published by Fabrizio Romano: "We do not want to sell Julián Álvarez, we did not accept an offer worth 100 million euros and we will not accept an offer worth 150 or 200 million euros".
He added: "My position and the club's position are clear, we have clarified that to the player and his representatives and the president of Barcelona, I have no doubt that Atlético is the most suitable place in the world for Álvarez, and that Julián is the ideal outright striker for us, we want to keep him".
He concluded: "I recently heard the president (Laporta) say that the offer he made to Atlético Madrid has limits, and my only response is that our answer has no limits, we do not want to sell him".
Julián Álvarez had scored one goal during his participation with the Argentina national team in the 2026 World Cup finals.
Álvarez contributed to qualifying the Argentina national team to the World Cup final to face Spain in the final match after defeating England 2-1.
