Coach Hossam Hassan, the head coach of the Egyptian national team, maintained his composure after the Pharaohs' historic qualification to the Round of 16 of the World Cup, following their overcoming of Australia.
The Egyptian national team succeeded in surpassing their Australian counterpart, through penalty kicks, after the end of regular and extra time with a positive draw of one goal each, in the match that took place as part of the Round of 32 of the World Cup.
Hossam Hassan challenges Messi
Hossam Hassan, the coach of the Egyptian national team, sent a strong message to Argentine Lionel Messi, in light of the potential confrontation of the Pharaohs against Lionel Scaloni's squad in the Round of 16 of the World Cup.
Hossam Hassan said, in a statement via "Yalla Kora": "Afraid of Messi? We are not afraid of anyone... Have you ever seen Hossam Hassan afraid... We only fear God."
The Egyptian national team had qualified for the Round of 32 after the Pharaohs finished in second place in the standings of Group G in the World Cup, behind Belgium on goal difference.
The Egyptian national team began their World Cup journey with a draw against Belgium, before achieving a historic first victory against New Zealand, in the match that preceded the Pharaohs sharing points with Iran at the end of the group stage.
