In the midst of a series of victories and goals, the Spanish national team recently appeared to know no other path than finding the back of the net against its opponents, but only two teams managed to stop this flood and force "La Furia Roja" to leave the pitch without scoring any goal.
During recent times, the Spanish national team continued to confirm its attacking strength, having succeeded in scoring against most of its opponents, whether in official or friendly matches, up to its participation in the World Cup and the Nations League.
But amidst this offensive tide, only two matches emerged in which the Spanish national team left without breaching the opponent's net.
From September 7, 2025, until September 29, 2026, the Spanish national team played 19 matches, succeeding in scoring in 17 of them, while failing to crack the defenses of only two teams: Egypt and Cape Verde.
Egypt and Cape Verde.. The safety valve against the flood
The first match was against the Egyptian national team, in the friendly encounter that brought the two teams together on March 31, 2026, ending in a scoreless draw.
Although the match took place as a friendly before the start of the World Cup, the Egyptian national team managed to keep a clean sheet against one of the strongest teams in the world, denying Spain the chance to score.
As for the second match, it came at the opening of Spain's journey in the 2026 World Cup tournament, when they faced the Cape Verde national team, and the match ended in a 0-0 scoreless draw.
After the draw against Cape Verde, the Spanish national team returned to its usual hobby of finding the back of the net, continuing its journey in the tournament until it clinched the World Cup title, before resuming its matches in the Nations League.
Spain's flood continues to crush opponents
In its latest appearance, the Spanish national team continued its offensive displays by winning against Croatia with a score of 4-1, after having previously defeated England 3-2 in the first round of the Nations League.
With this victory, the Spanish national team reaches 40 consecutive matches without defeat, becoming the first team in the history of men's international football to achieve such a streak of unbeaten games.
The last defeat suffered by the Spanish national team in an official match dates back to March 28, 2023, against Scotland in the qualifiers for Euro 2024.
