Ahmed Hossam Mido, ex-stellar of Al-Zamalek and current media personality, commented on the draw of the White Knight in its first match of the 2026-2027 Egyptian Premier League season, against Al-Ittihad Alexandria.
Al-Zamalek drew 0-0 with Al-Ittihad Alexandria in the match held last Friday evening at the Cairo International Stadium, in the first round of the Egyptian Premier League.
Mido wrote on his personal account on the "X" platform: "The slow start to the season is expected given the circumstances the team has gone through".

He continued: "Al-Zamalek will improve with matches during the season, and Maamoun Gamal is not a magician who will prepare players in 20 days and go down to win league matches against teams that are physically more ready. We must be realistic, this is the situation and no one will be able to change it!!".
Al-Zamalek will play its next match against Al-Bank Al-Ahli in the framework of the second round of the Egyptian Premier League, on Wednesday next, August 26.
