Zamalek Club issued an official statement defending Egyptian refereeing and demanding that the integrity of the refereeing system not be questioned.

Zamalek also demanded during its statement the disclosure of the value of all players' contracts to apply the principle of transparency to everyone.

Zamalek's statement came as follows:

The Board of Directors of Zamalek Club followed with great astonishment the early campaign against Egyptian refereeing, and the prior objection to the formation of the referees' committee.

Regarding this matter, the Board of Directors of Zamalek Club would like to clarify a number of points to the public opinion:

First: The early threat to the referees, objecting to some names, and recalling refereeing incidents from the previous season for the purpose of doubting and causing confusion, is completely unacceptable, and aims to terrorize the referees before the start of the season, as has been the custom in recent seasons.

Second: It is unacceptable to question the integrity of Egyptian refereeing, and all elements of the Egyptian football system.

Third: The Board of Directors of Zamalek Club appreciates the efforts of the Board of Directors of the Egyptian Football Association, headed by Engineer Hani Abu Rida, in developing the football system, and investing the success of our national team's distinguished World Cup participation in the last World Cup.

The Zamalek Board also commends the Federation President's keenness to do justice to the club, and his announcement before the sports community that all Zamalek players' contracts are valid, and appeals to the Football Association and the concerned authorities to disclose the validity of the contracts of players from the rest of the clubs, in order to clarify the truth to everyone.
