Maher Ghareeb, Director of the Media Department at Zamalek, announced that the team will conduct its training outside the club's stadium in Mit Okba next season, and responded to what was raised about the delay in the start of the camp due to players' dues.
John Edward left the position of sports director of Zamalek Club, and the club announced the continuation of Moatamed Jamal as technical director of the team.
The Director of the Media Department at Zamalek said via Modern TV: "There is appreciation from the board of directors for what John Edward has provided, and we will hold a honoring ceremony for him in a few days in appreciation of what he has done for the club. The matter was not a sharp disagreement as rumored, and the relationship between all parties is excellent. The statement issued expresses appreciation and respect".
He stressed, "What is being circulated about the identity of the new sports director of Zamalek is incorrect, and once an agreement is reached, the new name will be announced".
He clarified, "Zamalek players will not return to train at Mit Okba stadium. We will hold a closed camp next week in the New Administrative Capital, and after that we will train daily at another stadium other than the Military College, most likely at the Air Defense".
He added, "The players have financial rights and they will receive them. What was raised about the players refusing to participate in training before receiving their dues did not happen, and the players' participation in training starting from Saturday will be the best response to that".
He continued, "Abdel Nasser Mohamed held a meeting with Zamalek officials, is committed to the required role, deals professionally, knows exactly what is required of him, and there is nothing preventing his continuation".
FilGoal.com had earlier revealed the continuation of Abdel Nasser Mohamed in his position without change. (See details)
Regarding the delay in the start of the camp three weeks before the beginning of the season, he said: "Are there other alternatives? This is the current situation and we must deal with it. Everyone knows the difficulty of the current position, and Zamalek has gone through crises and difficulties greater than this".
Zamalek announced the start of the team's camp on Friday, July 31, in preparation for the 2026-2027 season.
Moatamed Jamal, Zamalek coach, informed the players of the date for the medical examination over the next Thursday and Saturday to complete the medical checks for all players before the start of the preparation period.
Zamalek indicated that this comes within the arrangements set by the technical staff to ensure the players' readiness medically and physically before the start of training in preparation for the new season.
