Maher Ghareeb, Director of the Media Department at Zamalek Club, revealed that his club has settled on the name of the new sports director.
Zamalek Club announced the acceptance of the resignation of John Edward, the club's sports director.
Maher Ghareeb said via Modern channel: "Change is natural anywhere, and Zamalek thanked John Edward for everything he provided".
He added: "We do not want the media to portray John Edward's departure as a sharp disagreement with the board of directors, and the relationship between the two parties remains very good until now".
He continued: "Zamalek will contract with a new sports director, and there is an official agreement with one person to assume the position, but I will not comment on any rumors".
He went on: "Zamalek will work with the same team as John Edward next season, and training will not be at the club's headquarters at Helmy Zamora Stadium".
He pointed out: "Zamalek will not train at the Military College stadium next season, and Air Defense is the closest".
He added: "Zamalek's board of directors and Moatamed Gamal will prioritize the club's interests, and since last season saw success, work will continue under the same system".
He stressed: "It is not correct to say that Zamalek players refuse to train because they have not received their dues; all players will receive their dues normally, and Zamalek has throughout its history suffered from financial hardship, but it is an honor for any player to have his name associated with Zamalek".
He continued: "Matters should have been arranged before the team's return to training, and when all matters were resolved and the new coach was settled on, the training date was set".
He concluded: "Abdel Nasser Mohamed, the football director, is fulfilling his role to the fullest, and there is nothing preventing his continuation in his position next season, as he is working on arranging all matters related to the team's camp".
