A source at Zamalek Club revealed new details regarding the altercation that occurred after the match between Al-Ahly and Zamalek in the Women's Football League, clarifying that the club's account differs in some aspects from what has been circulated about the incident.

Al-Ahly's women's first team achieved a decisive victory over Zamalek with a clean six-goal margin in the match that brought them together as part of the second round fixtures of the Egyptian League for the current 2026-2027 season.

The source stated in exclusive remarks to "Yalla Kora" that Zamalek players and technical staff, along with Hazem Imam and Nira, were present on the pitch after the match ended, before an Al-Ahly club photographer approached to film the players while they were visibly upset and crying following the defeat.

He added: "The Al-Ahly photographer attempted to provoke the Zamalek players by filming them while they were crying. Moreover, the Al-Ahly coach conducted a training session with his players and then brought them back onto the pitch, which we considered a provocative act, as if the match had been easy."

The source explained that Zamalek officials requested Shadi Mohamed to remove the Al-Ahly players from the pitch, which indeed happened, before the Zamalek players headed to the locker room where they played some songs. Initially, neither Al-Ahly players nor officials intervened in the matter.

He continued: "Subsequently, Shadi Mohamed was conducting an interview in front of the locker room with its door open, and the celebratory atmosphere and music were visible behind him. We considered this provocative, so we approached him."

He added: "During this, the Al-Ahly photographer intervened saying, 'So what are you going to do?' to which a Zamalek administrator responded, leading to an escalation and an altercation between both parties."

The source indicated that the microphone falling during the altercation was a normal occurrence resulting from the scuffle, affirming that Zamalek officials intervened to quickly resolve the situation.

He concluded: "We were the ones who escorted the Al-Ahly players and technical staff out of the area and accompanied them to their bus, treating them respectfully, as everyone witnessed. We also escorted Ahmed Ramadan to the bus."
