Al-Zamalek officially announced obtaining the African license to participate in the African Champions League next season.
Al-Zamalek said through its official accounts: "Obtaining the African license came as a practical response to all the skeptics, and the club remained silent throughout the past period and preferred to work quietly away from controversy until all procedures were completed and the club's position was confirmed safe, and the board of directors affirms that actions are the most important, not words."
Al-Zamalek Club revealed that it obtained the license to participate in African club championships next season, from the Confederation of African Football.
This came after Al-Zamalek completed all the issues related to obtaining the African participation license.
The Egyptian Football Association had announced the names of the teams participating in the African championships for the 2026-27 season.
Al-Zamalek and Pyramids participate in the African Champions League, and Al-Ahly and ZED in the Confederation.
Al-Zamalek obtained the license for continental participation after resolving all related cases at FIFA. (Read the details)
Pyramids participates in the African Champions League for the fourth consecutive season in the tournament that it won the title once in the previous season.
Meanwhile, Al-Ahly participates in the Confederation after finishing third in the Egyptian League standings last season.
It is the team's first participation in the tournament since the 2014-15 season, knowing that it won the title in the 2013-14 season.
ZED joins the list of teams participating continentally for the first time in its history after finishing as runner-up in the Egyptian Cup final last season to Pyramids.
