Zamalek secured an important victory over their rivals Suez Petrojet with a 2-1 scoreline in the match that brought both teams together within the fixtures of the third round of the Egyptian Premier League, on Monday evening at Cairo International Stadium.
Suez Petrojet missed a dangerous chance when Mahmoud Hamdi El-Wensh cleared the ball off the goal line in the 9th minute.

The crossbar prevented Suez Petrojet from scoring another goal after Ahmed Bahbah executed a wonderful bicycle kick from inside the penalty area, but it hit the crossbar in the 12th minute.
Hossam Ashraf scored the opening goal for the White Knights in the 40th minute with a header to the left of the Suez Petrojet goalkeeper, following a cross from the left side by the Angolan Chico Banza.
Chico Banza broke away in the 56th minute, dribbling past the Suez Petrojet goalkeeper and falling inside the penalty area, appealing for a penalty kick, but the referee ordered play to continue.
Mohamed El-Sayed added the second goal for the White Castle in the 62nd minute, breaking away and shooting with his right foot to the left of Omar Salah, the Suez Petrojet goalkeeper.
Zamalek's Standing in the Premier League
This victory marks the second consecutive win for the White Castle in the Premier League, following their 3-0 triumph over National Bank of Egypt in the previous round.
