Yasser Ibrahim scored Al-Ahly's winning goal in the match held at Cairo International Stadium, as part of the third round of the Premier League.
The player scored Al-Ahly's only goal in the 86th minute with a powerful shot that found the back of Smouha's net, breaking the Alexandrian team's resistance and granting the Red Devils three new points in their league campaign.
With this victory, Al-Ahly raised its tally to 9 points, occupying second place in the league standings behind leaders Pyramids FC on goal difference.
Al-Ahly had begun its tournament journey with a 3-2 victory over Modern Sport, before defeating ZED 2-0 in the second round, then securing its encounter against Smouha with a clean sheet win.
Meanwhile, Smouha continued its negative results, having lost 1-0 to Al-Masry, then drawing goalless with Assiut Petroleum, before suffering its second defeat against Al-Ahly.
