Al Ahly club officials continue their efforts to sign Ghazl El Mahalla team player Mahmoud Salah during the current summer transfer window, in order to bolster the ranks of the red team ahead of the new season.
The past period witnessed negotiations between the two clubs to finalize the deal for the 18-year-old player in favor of Al Ahly, especially since the Ghazl El Mahalla player has come under the radar of European clubs.
Convergence of views
Initially, Ghazl El Mahalla set a financial condition to sell Mahmoud Salah this summer to Al Ahly for 60 million pounds, then the financial condition was reduced to 50 million pounds.
In return, Al Ahly did not show readiness to pay this amount, leading to negotiations to reduce the financial condition, especially since the Cairo club has the player's approval to transfer.
“Yalla Koura” learned from its private sources inside the corridors of Ghazl El Mahalla club that the latter’s administration showed some flexibility in reducing the financial compensation to 40 million pounds.
Here Al Ahly showed some flexibility in completing the deal, but the “Red Castle” administration has not fully finalized the deal.
The source—who requested anonymity—revealed that Al Ahly’s administration requested to split the deal value, which Ghazl El Mahalla’s administration approved.
At the same time, Al Ahly asked Ghazl El Mahalla officials not to disclose any financial matters regarding this deal to avoid placing future pressure on the young player.
The source clarified that Al Ahly is now prepared to pay 25 million pounds, while the remainder of the amount, estimated at 15 million pounds, will be paid in installments.
The source also indicated that additions will be included in the contract, such as a sell-on clause or a participation percentage, and there is no disagreement on this point from Al Ahly’s administration.
The source also noted that a meeting is expected in the coming hours between Essam Sarraj, the official in charge of transfers, and Ghazl El Mahalla officials, to put the final touches on this deal.
The youth national team player has made 28 appearances with Ghazl El Mahalla, during which he scored four goals and provided three assists.
