Deliberations continue regarding the future of Mahmoud Hassan Trezeguet, Al Ahly club player, during the ongoing summer transfer period.
Al-Riyadh Saudi club presented an offer to Al Ahly to purchase Trezeguet during the summer transfer period.
A source said in exclusive statements to Yalla Koura: "There is a division within Al Ahly, as the board of directors wants Trezeguet to continue, while the football management wants the player to leave in light of the contract reduction policy".
The source added: "Trezeguet obtained approval from the football management to negotiate the terms of his contract with Al-Riyadh club, and indeed finished all matters".
The source revealed: "Al Ahly informed Trezeguet the day before yesterday to postpone negotiations with Al-Riyadh club, but the player categorically rejected the idea of staying with the team".
The source indicated: "The player held a meeting yesterday with an official from the football management, in which he informed him of his dissatisfaction with many of the terms of his contract leaking to the media and insisted on leaving".
The source concluded: "There is another meeting between the player and Sayed Abdel Hafeez, within 48 hours the matter will be decided in it".
Trezeguet participated with the Egyptian national team in the 2026 World Cup, and managed to score a goal against New Zealand.
Trezeguet had returned to Al Ahly at the beginning of last season, after a professional journey that lasted 10 years.
Trezeguet participated in 32 matches with Al Ahly club in the past season, where he scored 16 goals.
Trezeguet holds a contract with Al Ahly until June 2031.
