A source within ZED Club revealed details of the injury sustained by Mata Magassa, the Mauritanian player on the team, during a friendly match against El Mokawloon Al Arab prior to the start of the Egyptian Premier League season.
ZED Club had previously drawn 0-0 with Wadi Degla in the opening match of the 2026-2027 Egyptian Premier League season.
ZED Club is now preparing for its second-round Egyptian Premier League match against Al Ahly, scheduled for next Friday at 8:00 PM.
Details of Mata Magassa's Injury
The source stated in exclusive comments to "Yalla Kora" that Mata Magassa suffered facial bone fractures during the friendly match against El Mokawloon Al Arab before the league began. He underwent cosmetic surgery to address the injury, which caused him to miss ZED's match against Wadi Degla in the league's first round.
The source clarified that the player is awaiting the arrival of a special medical mask from abroad, prepared to protect him during training sessions and matches. He will begin a new phase of rehabilitation immediately upon its arrival.
The source added that Mata Magassa will undergo two weeks of training without any physical contact before gradually reintegrating into full team training sessions with the rest of the squad.
The source indicated that the player will be available to participate in matches once he resumes full team training, but he will wear the protective mask during games to safeguard the injured area and avoid any contact that could compromise his recovery.
