Argentina defeated Cape Verde with three goals to two in the round of 32 of the 2026 World Cup.
Paredes told reporters after the match: "We knew we would face a team capable of putting pressure on us and confusing us at certain times during the match."
He continued, "The Cape Verde team had a great group stage and proved to be an organized and strong team, so the match was not easy at all."
He added, "We play at the highest level of world football, and all the teams here are physically and technically strong, and there are no easy matches in the World Cup."
He concluded, "Starting tomorrow, preparations will begin to face Egypt in the best possible way, as it will be a very difficult match requiring full concentration from everyone."
The Argentine national team will meet Egypt in the round of 16 on Tuesday, July 7th.
