Frenchman Claude Leroy, coach of Congo, launched a scathing attack on Gianni Infantino, president of the International Federation of Football, criticizing his management of the World Cup and the Africa Cup of Nations, and also revealed the reason for his absence from the current tournament.
Claude Leroy said in statements via the French L'Equipe network: "I had called for a boycott of the World Cup, and for this reason I am not present in the United States, and Gianni Infantino speaks several languages, but he is a multilingual fool, and dangerous to football".
He continued, "He has not presented anything positive to football, but has made this sport look suspicious in everyone's eyes, and it is unfortunate that this man still holds the presidency of the International Federation of Football".
He added, "Today when people talk about football in the streets or among friends, they talk about the existence of manipulation, and that the disciplinary committee does not exist, and I am shocked by the image that professional football at the highest level in the world has come to reflect".
He revealed, "In Africa, Infantino acts as if he is the absolute decision-maker in the Africa Cup of Nations, and he cannot do one in a hundred of what he does in the Africa Cup of Nations during the European Championship or Copa America or the Asian Cup".
He continued, "He is the one who determines the order of the Africa Cup of Nations final ceremony, directs heads of state where to stand, and he is the one who delivers all the medals".
He concluded, "Infantino relies only on exploiting the greed of a large number of presidents of national federations, some of these presidents are already fugitives and are being pursued by international arrest warrants".
