Hossam Hassan, the coach of the Egyptian national team, spoke about the strengths of the Australian team before their World Cup match.
The Egyptian team will face its Australian counterpart at 9 PM on Friday in the round of 32 of the World Cup.
Hossam Hassan said in the press conference before the match: "The bodies of African team players resemble the Australian team, and football is not about bodies. We succeeded in dealing with set pieces and high balls against New Zealand and Iran."
The Egyptian team achieved a 3-1 victory against New Zealand and drew 1-1 against Iran.
He continued about the heights of the Australian team players, "Maradona was not tall, nor are Messi, Mbappe, and Mohamed Salah. We have strength, height, and elevation in the Egyptian team. We do not play rugby or American football."
He added, "Every team has positives and negatives, and we can handle all circumstances. All respect and appreciation to the Australian team, and every match is like a championship."
He added, "In 3 World Cup matches, we scored 5 goals, so we have offensive capabilities, as well as defensive, having conceded two goals."
He pointed out, "We are determined to make the Egyptian people, Africa, and the Arab community happy."
Regarding the absence of Mohannad Lashin against Australia, Hossam Hassan said, "Mohannad is a very important player, as are all the injured players like Ahmed Fattouh and Mohamed Abdel Monem. Despite their capabilities, we do not focus on the negatives, but I have confidence in all the players."
He continued, "The team works according to a collective effort, and we do not rely on just one player."
He expressed his happiness with the fans' confidence, "I am happy with their confidence and their thinking about the next match after Australia, but as a responsible person, I only think about the match I will play, to achieve the fans' aspirations."
He concluded, "We play in a balanced and collective football manner, we respect the opponent, but we try to impose our character on the field, and the football we excel in, we take the reasons and success is from God."
The Egyptian team qualified as the runner-up of Group G with 7 points, behind Belgium on goal difference, while the Australian team ranked second in Group D with 4 points, ahead of Paraguay, third in the group, on goal difference.
