FIFA condemned all forms of racism, hatred and discrimination, affirming that there is no place for them in football or in society.

FIFA revealed that it had opened an investigation following an incident that occurred during the Argentina match against Cape Verde in the 2026 World Cup.

FIFA explained that the incident involved a fan interacting with content creator IShowSpeed inside Miami Stadium, where immediate action was taken to launch the investigation.

The statement stressed: "We strongly condemn racism, hatred and discrimination in all its forms, and there is no place for these acts in football, in the World Cup or anywhere in society".

It added: "The World Cup represents a celebration of unity, diversity and respect, bringing together different peoples and cultures".

The statement concluded: "Any behavior that undermines these values is not welcome in our game".
