The French national team is preparing to face Paraguay in the round of 16 of the World Cup tomorrow morning, Sunday.
RMC Sport radio revealed that Tchouaméni felt discomfort in his thigh muscle during Friday's training, officially confirming his absence from Saturday's match scheduled in Philadelphia.
According to the report, Tchouaméni's absence is initially estimated at about four days, with close monitoring of his condition by the technical staff, in hopes he can return for the quarter-final match on July 9 if France qualifies.
In light of the expected absence, Manu Koné has become the frontrunner to fill the midfield position instead of Tchouaméni against Paraguay, in a tough test for the Roosters in the knockout stages.
The winner of this match will face the qualifier from Morocco and Canada in the quarter-finals of the World Cup.
