Spain secured their qualification to the Round of 16 of the World Cup, achieving their first knockout stage victory since the 2010 final.

Luis de la Fuente said on RTVE: "Great teams show up when needed most. I think we saw a fantastic match today, and I am happy because we were near-perfect in all aspects, but we must continue to improve."
He added: "Every match will be very difficult now. In the Round of 16, the opponents are more demanding. You can always improve, and that is what the team aspires to."
De la Fuente concluded his statements: "I have players who aspire for more. Oyarzabal showed his footballing abilities, and so did the rest of his teammates. We delivered an exceptional match."
