The Belgian national team achieved an exciting victory against Senegal with three goals to two in the round of 32 of the World Cup, qualifying the Belgian team for the round of 16.
Courtois said in statements to reporters: "I have experienced such moments many times with Real Madrid."
He continued, "We knew that the Senegalese team was strong, especially with Ismaila Sarr who is very fast, and they also have a clear presence inside the penalty area, which was evident in the first goal, while the second goal came from a long ball."
He added, "We realized that their danger lies in speed, and perhaps we need to review some details and find out what we did wrong, because they have high quality in passing and building play from the back."
He revealed, "In some moments, when a player gets the freedom to pass, pressure should have been applied faster, and the defensive line should have retreated better, but these are also strengths of the opponent, and sometimes you have to acknowledge the quality of the opponent."
He concluded, "Overall, we defended very well, with the exception of one chance for Sadio Mane, and I don't think they created other dangerous chances, even in extra time there was only one chance, and we dealt well with set pieces.
