Jesse Marsch, the coach of the Canadian national team, emphasized the difficulty of his team's match against Morocco in the World Cup.
Canada will play against Morocco on Saturday evening in the Round of 16 of the World Cup.
Jesse Marsch said in a press conference: "We have to stick to our attacking style with defensive discipline and close the spaces in front of Morocco. We look forward to continuing the journey and achieving a greater accomplishment against the team that finished fourth in the 2022 World Cup."
He added, "The Moroccan team does not suffer from any weaknesses, having delivered outstanding performances in the tournament that reinforced its position as one of the strongest teams. They have a strong midfield with movement and fluidity, and offensive capabilities that punish any opponent who does not adhere to the plan."
He concluded his statements, "We know that Morocco will test everything we do, we have to stick to the things we excel at, and then see if that will be enough against an opponent of this caliber."
The Moroccan team will face its Canadian counterpart on Saturday, July 4th at 8 PM.
An English refereeing team led by Michael Oliver will officiate the match between Canada and Morocco.
This is the first time Michael Oliver will officiate a match involving either the Moroccan or Canadian teams.
