Zambia's national team took the lead against Egypt with a clean goal in the first round of the third group of the African Women's Cup of Nations held in Morocco.
Zambia's goal was scored by player Rachel Nachula from a penalty kick in the 25th minute.
Rachel Nachula, Zambia's goal scorer, began her sports career as a runner.
Nachula participated in the 2008 Beijing Olympics in the 400-meter race and succeeded in qualifying for the semi-final round.
After ending her running career, Rachel Nachula switched to playing football.
She began her football career in 2014 and made her first appearance with the Zambian national team in 2017.
She represented Zambia at the 2024 Olympics with the Zambian women's national football team before exiting in the group stage.
Nachula said before her participation in the Olympics: "When one door closes, another opens, so don't keep your eyes on the closed door; we can also discover another talent and develop it".
Nachula, who is 40 years old, is participating in the 2026 African Women's Cup of Nations.
Joining Egypt and Zambia in the third group are the Nigerian national team, the historical champion of the tournament with 10 titles, and Malawi.
The Egyptian women's national team is participating in the African Cup of Nations for the third time in history, and the first time in 10 years.
