FC Barcelona swept past their rivals Rayo Vallecano with a 5-2 victory in the third round of the Spanish La Liga at Camp Nou.

Barcelona's goals were scored by Raphinha with two goals in the 19th and 71st minutes, Lamine Yamal with two goals in the 21st and 90th minutes, and an own goal by Rayo Vallecano's Florian Lejeune in the 51st minute.

Meanwhile, Rayo Vallecano's two goals were scored by Sergio Camello in the 12th and 59th minutes of the match.

The match saw Egyptian star Hamza Abdulkarim come on in the 86th minute replacing Raphinha, marking his official debut with the Catalan club.

With this win, Barcelona raised their tally to nine points, topping the La Liga standings on goal difference ahead of runners-up Real Madrid.

Raphinha missed a chance to score the opening goal for Barcelona in the seventh minute after taking a powerful free-kick from the edge of the penalty area, but the ball went just wide of the right post.

Sergio Camello of Rayo Vallecano managed to score the opening goal for his team in the 12th minute following a quick counter-attack led by Álvaro García from the left flank, who delivered a low cross that Camello converted with a strong shot into the net past Juan García, the Catalan club's goalkeeper.

Rayo Vallecano goalkeeper Dani Cárdenas saved his goal from conceding an equalizer in the 14th minute by blocking a shot from Raphinha inside the six-yard box.

Raphinha of Barcelona succeeded in scoring the equalizing goal in the 19th minute after dribbling past Rayo Vallecano defenders, breaking through alone towards the goal, and firing the ball into the net.

Barcelona's Marc Bernal nearly extended his team's lead in the 40th minute with a rocket shot from outside the penalty area, but the Rayo Vallecano goalkeeper made a save.

The referee disallowed a goal scored by Barcelona's Jules Koundé in the 45+2 minute after reviewing VAR footage due to an offside position by the French player.

At the start of the second half, specifically in the 51st minute, Barcelona scored their third goal via an own goal by Rayo Vallecano's Florian Lejeune, who deflected a cross delivered by Anthony Gordon into his own net with a shot.
