Zamalek Club's obtaining of the African license after resolving the related cases and paying the required dues has raised many questions among fans about the club's continued inability to conclude new deals during the summer transfer period.
Despite Zamalek's success in closing the African license file, this does not automatically mean lifting the registration ban in light of the imposition of a disciplinary registration suspension penalty that prevents the Whites from registering any new deals for two periods "the current summer and the upcoming winter".
Why is Zamalek still banned from registering new deals?
The African license file differs from the registration ban file, as the African license file relates to the necessity of meeting the conditions for participating in continental tournaments and paying the dues for cases whose rulings were issued by FIFA before March 31.
While the registration ban file is linked to a disciplinary penalty imposed by FIFA due to the accumulation of cases against Zamalek in the past period, which reached 18 cases, and the penalty is not lifted except upon the end of its term or by amending the decision after appeal.
Zamalek Club's management is intensifying its attempts to lift the registration ban after submitting an appeal against the decision, and although the chances of the appeal being accepted appear very weak, the club continues its efforts in hopes of lifting the penalty and enabling the conclusion of new deals before the summer transfer window closes.
In the event that the registration ban continues during the current summer transfer period, Zamalek's management will work to resolve the crisis before the opening of the winter transfer window scheduled for January 2027.
